Pound for Pound

Well, we just returned from Logan's first check up since his G tube surgery.  Unfortunately, there wasn't much in the way of weight gain.  He's only about 1/2 lb up in 3 weeks which is a bit of a disappointment.  So, we are going to be a little bit more aggressive with the tube feed at night, and add in some small bolus (sp?) feeds during the day.  After talking with Logan's GI doc today, Landon and I both feel l ike we have a bit more liberty when it comes to the decisions to tweak the Gtube feeds and that makes both of us feel better.

On another note, (God Bless the Military insurance!!!) last night was our first night with a LPN  in our home to monitor the feed overnight.  She will be with us 5 days a week monitoring Logan's feeds and that is a HUGE blessing.  Of course, it will take some getting used to and some trust building for us to be completely comfortable with a stranger in our house caring for our child while we sleep, but we are excited for the prospect.  Because it was so new, however, we were both kind of on "high alert" last night and didn't get much sleep.  But that's ok.  A couple of cups of coffee and we're sure to recover.

Yes, even in the Pacific Northwest it snows...  We built an igloo in our front yard yesterday :)
